In May 2021, Amazon developed a Mindful Practice Room — called AmaZen. It is a cubicle the size of a porta-potty where employees can do relaxation exercises. Mindfulness boxes in warehouses, offices that look like playgrounds and machine-led stretch sessions during lunch breaks are measures that are increasingly being integrated into workplaces.
The gamification and automation of work is brought to interactive experience in the Artificial Jamsession. By detecting wrists, sounds are triggered and a sound of human-machine interactions is created. A continuous beat, reminiscent of machine clacking and heart rhythms, forms the auditory basis. In the next step, users learn what lies behind the playful facade and with what motivation work is transformed into a game.
